About You:
I'm a travel writer who spends half my time in Argentina's wine country and the other half on the Caribbean twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

I specialise in writing about South American wines, green travel, the adventures to be lived in South America and Spanish immersion courses.

I recently discovered that Uruguay may just be the best place to taste a decent Tannat. Uruguay is doing for Tannat what Argentina did for Malbec.

Live your own amazing race

As amazing as “The Amazing Race” on CBS television looks, I just assumed it was another reality television show, not reality. Well, that’s about to change, this summer. Anyone, with a passport and visas to Western and Central Europe, can sign up to be a reality game contestant on Competitours’ amazing travel competition through Europe. No TV cameras though, but no eliminations either. And to the victors goes a fabulous grand prize. The grand prize is three worldwide travel spree options with a f… Continue

Coppola’s art, lots of little nooks and comfy furniture mak… Continue

Resort destination under the sea

For those who've been there, done that; I promise you haven't experienced a seven-star undersea resort before. Jules Verne dared us to dream with his book "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". L. Bruce Jones invites us to live the fantasy at Poseidon Undersea Resort, the first ever permanent one-atmosphere sea floor resort 40 feet below the surface. Spectacular views of a living coral reef teeming with marine life await us from every one of the 24 suites. I haven't seen it in person but the photos jus… Continue

Finally, a website for the culturally challenged!

Sometimes the cultural divide can be greater than language barriers and are often unexpected. I remember going to Mass at a Catholic church in Montevideo expecting an outstretched hand during the sign of peace instead I was greeted with a kiss on the cheek by some and hugs from others, but not one member of the congregation shook my hand. It was a welcomed surprise, but more often than not the signs we assume are universal have completely different meanings in other countries. CultureCrossing.ne… Continue
